A round-table discussion titled “Regional Developments and Prospects of the ‘Crossroads of Peace’ Project” was held, organized by the Information and Public Relations Center and the Orbeli Center. The event brought together representatives from government agencies, expert circles, and international organizations to discuss key issues surrounding regional connectivity, economic development, and Armenia’s strategic priorities.

Mikayel Yalanuzyan, Coordinator of the Orbeli Center, delivered the opening remarks. Welcoming speeches were also delivered by Arman Yeghoyan, Chair of the Standing Committee on European Integration of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, and Edgar Zakaryan, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. They highlighted the importance of regional infrastructure projects—particularly the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative—within the context of Armenia’s economic and political development.

The first panel discussion was dedicated to Armenia’s engagement policy in international transport projects as a foundation for economic stability and strategic priority. The speakers addressed the strategic significance of the “Crossroads of Peace” project, prospects for developing regional transport and logistical connectivity, as well as the energy component and opportunities for inclusive economic growth.

Within the framework of the discussion, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Orbeli Center and the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, marking an important step toward deepening bilateral cooperation.

The second panel discussion focused on the challenges and prospects of developing the transport system under the “Crossroads of Peace” project. Participants discussed the dynamics of Armenia’s foreign trade turnover, the current state of the transport system from a business perspective, and opportunities for regional cooperation, particularly in the context of connectivity with Iran and Georgia.

The third panel discussion, held in the afternoon, was devoted to the diversification of Armenia’s foreign and economic policies amid a changing world order. The speakers presented global and regional challenges, the role of the “Crossroads of Peace” project in ensuring regional stability, as well as cargo flow dynamics and prospects for developing alternative transit routes.

The event concluded with active discussions and a Q&A session. Participants exchanged views that underscored the importance of deepening regional cooperation and implementing infrastructure projects to ensure Armenia’s development and stability.
