The "Information and Public Relations Center" State Non-Commercial Organization (SNCO) was established on November 6, 2008, and was initially integrated into the Staff of the President of the Republic of Armenia. By the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Armenia dated December 9, 2017, the "Information and Analysis Center" SNCO of the Government of the Republic of Armenia was merged into the "Information and Public Relations Center" SNCO.
Following the transition to a parliamentary system of government in the Republic of Armenia, the reorganized "Information and Public Relations Center" SNCO began operating under the Government, and subsequently within the Prime Minister's Office.
The primary objective of the Center's activities is to ensure that the Armenian public is fully informed about the Government's activities, while conversely keeping the Government and state agencies updated on matters of key public interest and agenda. Furthermore, the Center aims to raise awareness among the international community regarding the policies and positions of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The main functions of the Information and Public Relations Center are as follows: ․
  • Covering the activities and protocol events of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, the Government, and various state agencies.
  • Informing the public about Government decisions, programs, reforms, key legislative changes, as well as events and their results.
  • Conducting real-time monitoring of news flows in Armenian and foreign media, as well as on social media platforms. Providing the Government and stakeholder bodies with information, socio-political analyses, and insights gathered and processed through this monitoring.
  • Coordinating the processing and dissemination of official information during crises and emergencies.
  • Implementing communication campaigns aimed at promoting a culture of work and domestic production among the Armenian public, and strengthening Armenia-Diaspora relations.
  • Expanding cooperation with foreign governmental and non-governmental analytical and information centers, as well as independent experts.
  • Organizing international conferences, discussions, seminars, and events.
  • Presenting the Government's policies and positions on priority issues for the Republic of Armenia to both the local and international public.
  • Conducting documentation and archiving work within the context of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and manifestations of the conflict.
  • Countering informational propaganda that harms the state interests of the Republic of Armenia.
